Echo + Air came to this world in 2013. It was created by Los Angeles-based designer, Jordana Howard. Jordana studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. As a designer and artist, it has always been imperative for Jordana to create her own world. Combining her love of storytelling and mythology, her Scandinavian heritage, and a passion for Japanese pattern design, Echo + Air is the material expression of this world.
Echo + Air is 100% cut & sewn in Los Angeles. Manufacturing clothing domestically and ethically is integrated into their design philosophy. Because they work with a local factory, they are able to manage quality from start to finish. The cutters & sewers are skilled and paid fairly for their work. Many of their fabrics are knitted locally. They are able to work with some fantastic local knitting companies to create beautiful novelty knits each season. Making a smaller carbon footprint is a big part of the ethos. They do their best to source eco-friendly fabrics whenever possible. Modal, Tencel, Hemp, and Recycled Polyester are some of the materials used throughout the collections.
