Casa Verde is an online ethically-sourced marketplace founded by Karli Kujawa and Travis Smith in the summer of 2016. Customers can purchase unique home goods and accessories from their curated collections handmade by artisans in the United States and around the world. When searching for products for their collections, Casa Verde looks for items that have natural ingredients or dyes, low-waste packaging, and recycled, vintage or sustainable materials.
Every purchase from Casa Verde generates meaningful income for the artisans and their families. Many of the collectives Casa Verde partners with go beyond providing fair wages and safe working conditions by building schools, providing job training and protecting female artisans from sex trafficking. Like many of their partners Casa Verde also gives back at least 5% of their profits to organizations fighting for environmental and social change. Last year they were able to make donations to the Sierra Club, Badala and the ACLU.
