If you’ve checked out our mission page, you’ve read about how everything I’ve worked on in the past really led me to begin this collective–the dream of opening a shop, the years selling on Etsy, my work in social media–but you haven’t officially met the team! We’ll soon be updating the page with the full team list, but until then I wanted to share more about the three of us… Charity takes most of our beautiful photos and serves up recipes + adventure tips on the blog and Jennifer built our website and maintains our member profiles (to name just a few things each of them do), and I thought it was about time you learned more! So naturally I asked them to write up some intros, because everyone loves to write about themselves, right? Here goes!
Hello! I’m Charity and I’m writing to you from a cozy coffeehouse overlooking the cool waters of the Pacific Northwest. After a few years in sunny Los Angeles, I’m quite happily back among the evergreens and mountains. With a background in creative writing and photography, I found myself drawn to the world of digital marketing, where content creation is key. I have a passion for creating thoughtful and engaging content; words and images that tell a story and instantly connect people all over the world. My favorite aspect of digital marketing is getting to showcase brands and makers that are doing good in the world – creatives that are using their skills and resources to do something important – which is why Conscious Shop Collective’s mission speaks so clearly to me. Some of my favorites from the directory this fall? I can’t live without my Warren glasses from Proof Eyewear, and I have my eye on this beautiful foldover clutch from Lee Coren!
Hi, I’m Jennifer, A web developer, blogger, and crafter living in Portland, OR. Originally from Northern California, I moved here a couple years ago seeking more creative community and a refreshing change of scenery. I love taking on new hobbies, exploring pretty places, and encouraging others to recognize and embrace their creative potential. Through my experience as a blogger, I have found that there are so many ethical and empowering brands just waiting to be discovered. Developing a conscious lifestyle is often easier than we think! I’m thankful to be on a team that supports ethical companies and gives resources to those passionate about shopping small and living simply. Some products I’ve been eyeing from our directory are the After the Rain Gloria Tote from Manos Zapotecas, the Rose + Tea Facial Toner from florapothecarie, and this beautiful Mindfulness Hand Lettered Print from Worthwhile Paper.
And then there’s me! (The one with the iPhone photo below two beautiful, professional portraits… ha!) While the rest of the team is now based in the PNW, I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend and two kitties, though I’m visiting my hometown of Seattle whenever possible. I’m a freelance editor + social media manager, love DIY, secondhand, nature, and coffee. Crafting has always been a huge part of my life and one of my favorite things about selling on Etsy was product and lifestyle photography–it’s so important to have good creative to promote your business–so I’m probably the most thrilled to be able to offer that to members. I love having a platform to share all that I’ve learned about conscious living through CSC, and I hope to continue doing so (and working with two of the most creative and hardworking women I know) for a long time to come! As far as fave member items, I love these vintage-style tops from Back Beat Rags and my coasters from Hey Girl Market brighten up my whole space.
Hope you enjoyed learning about us… If you’re reading, we’d love to hear YOUR intro too!
