Hi friends! I have to admit that this season so far as been riddled with ups and downs. From a trip home celebrating the engagements of my closest friends to grieving tragedy after tragedy, my emotions have been all over. In the last few weeks alone there have been times that I’ve jumped out of bed in the morning ready to take on (and hopefully change!) the world, and times that I’ve stayed under the covers until noon, feeling helpless and hopeless. Needless to say there’s been a lot on my mind, all of our minds, to kick off a season normally full of cozy days indoors and festive crafts and beautiful adventures. Fall is particularly special to me, always, despite living in a city that rarely dips below 80 degrees this time of year, so I’ve realized one thing: In all this chaos, it’s even more important that I embrace fall. It’s a comfort I cling to, and I think we should all pay attention to the things that bring us comfort and make the effort to immerse ourselves in them. After all, how can I be inspired to do all of the *good* things I want to do if I’m not taking time for myself?
There’s so much more to be said, but the bottom line is this: fall is that comfort for me, and if it is for you, here are some beautiful, creative, low-impact ways to embrace the season. Just the teeny, tiny act of finding the perfect pumpkin to adorn this corner bar cart put me in a better mood, so hopefully these ideas will do that for you!
