Awhile back we introduced you to our featured member, Level Ground Trading, who is a fair trade organization and direct wholesaler of coffee, tea, dried fruit, cane sugar, heirloom rice, vanilla beans, coconut oil and spices. It’s the first ethical food company in our collective and our own Charity got to try out their coffee and baking goodies a in a few different recipes.
We’ve gotten pretty well-versed in ethical and sustainable fashion over the past year (more on that later!) so now’s the time to dream up those new, more challenging goals as we head into 2018. It’s no surprise that things like food, coffee, and even the most simple cooking ingredients are at times near-impossible to find all the facts about. Learning about, and trying to trace back, some of the ingredients in my most loved pantry products has been the most difficult step for me in my ethical journey so far.
All that to say, I’m so thankful, excited, and seriously blown away by the work companies like Level Ground Trading are doing to make fair trade and ethically produced goods more attainable for everyone. And we haven’t even gotten to the fact that they send *nothing* to the landfill with their gorgeous and sustainable packaging and upcycling/composting programs.
If you’re looking to kick off the new year with a more ethical diet, Level Ground is the perfect place to start. With options for coffee, tea, dried fruit, and spices, it’s such a simple, small step that makes all the difference. If you shop their site, be sure to mention our blog while confirming your order to receive 15% off purchases until the end of the year.
